My name is Malika , and I am a Certified Birth and End of Life Doula located in Burlington , New Jersey. I am passionate about helping parents-to-be, families and extended families and villages navigate through the prenatal ,birthing and postpartum processes with strength, joy and love. I want you to have an experience that you can feel amazing about!

My journey to becoming a Doula began a few years ago when I realised that there were so many expectant families who were dissatisfied with the traditional medical model of the birthing process. I saw far too many labouring women who were unaware of the physiological and psychological changes their bodies were going through. As a result they were being induced and having c-sections at an alarming rate-thus ushering me into the birth world.

Whether you are a first time mom experiencing childbirth for the first time or you are welcoming your next bundle of joy we are here to help you manage before during and after birth. I believe we are stronger together and I look forward to taking the journey with you. From baby bump to birth and beyond ....

When I'm not talking about childbirth education or coaching my clients through contractions, you can find me soaking up the sun on a Caribbean island or spending time with my village which includes my parents, super hero hubby, our four children, daughter-in law, three grandchildren and a sweet maltipoo named Chewie.

As a doula, I work with clients to support them throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. What does this mean? It means I'm here, day or night, to provide you with continuous care, comfort, encouragement, and guidance throughout the entire process. Wondering what that cramp you just felt was? Curious if you can eat that funny cheese? I'm here for you. During pregnancy, I'll provide you with gentle guidance and informational support and be the judgement-free voice that you need.

When the big day comes, I'll be by your side from the first contractions until your baby is in your arms. No matter what kind of birth you're planning or how many times that plan needs to change, I'll help you understand your options, ensure that your preferences are upheld and respected, and make sure that your partner is hands-on, involved, and supported, too. My only goal for your birth is to help you have a positive and fulfilling birth experience.

After baby is born, I'll be close by to help you recover, to support your family, and to help you learn to care for your new baby. With a doula on your team, you'll never feel alone or need to wonder what comes next.
